A tenet of your luxury home is elegance. In many cases, this signifies the opposite of kitsch. And yet, we decorate for holidays and big cultural events, because sometimes bright garland and gaudy bobbleheads have a place in our lives! One such moment that brings festivity to the home each year is the Super Bowl! That is, if you are a football fan. But being that we’re in the South, we think you probably are! At the very least, you likely enjoy the food and gathering of friends and family. If you are the host of that Super Bowl party, we’ve got you covered in this blog post … here are six entertaining ideas!
#1 Homemade Hot Dips

We think the act of making food by hand is one of luxury, and what better in the dead of winter than a warm dip? Whether buffalo chicken, five layer, or spinach and artichoke, an oozing, fresh-from-the-stovetop (or instant pot) chip topping is sure to delight your guests.
If you need a good recipe, look no further than these go-tos:
- Hot Crab and Corn Dip by Katie Workman of The Mom 100
- Frank’s Redhot® Buffalo Chicken Dip by Frank’s RedHot®
- Mexican 5 Layer Dip by Anna of Crunchy Creamy Sweet
- Spinach Artichoke Dip by Jaclyn of Cooking Classy
- Philly Cheesesteak Dip by Amy of House of Nash Eats
#2 Corn Hole for Your Luxury Home

In between big game moments, you might find yourself wanting a casual activity to engage in with your guests. Corn hole is perfect for this, and it also gives you the opportunity to make an addition to your luxury home.
Although long considered a backyard barbecue game, corn hole has become a fixture at elegant events like weddings, too. As such, talented woodworkers now make gorgeous custom boards. Commission one that features your monogram, favorite sports team’s logo, or a beautiful chevron pattern.
#3 Create an Indoor-Outdoor Flow
We’ve all been quite focused on this for many reasons lately, but setting up an entertaining flow that includes indoor and outdoor spaces is a great idea. Not only does this give you more space to create food and beverage stations, television viewing areas, and game spots. It also allows people to spread out and mingle in groups they are comfortable with. For example, parents of young kids can form a little spot for the kids to play while they look on, while your adult children and their friends can gather near another table for their beer pong escapades!
If the weather fights you on this, consider investing in a residential outdoor heater. We would be willing to bet you’ll find plenty of great uses for it in the future!
#4 Don’t Forget Dessert

Don’t ask us where it started, but a Super Bowl and really any football party is so centered on good bar food—wings, burgers, quesadillas, veggie trays, chips and dip, etc. The thing is, though, if you are hosting a party, you need sweet treats too!
Two of our favorite ideas for a Super Bowl treat in your luxury home are these:

#5 Play Super Bowl Bingo

If you want another game to add to the list, we’d like to suggest Super Bowl bingo! This one is fun because it can be picked up and put down on and off throughout the party. Kelly over at Studio DIY! has a free printable version for you to enjoy!
Alternatively, you could create your own version that incorporates foods and activities you have planned.
#6 Build an Instagrammable Backdrop

Nothing says luxury party like a backdrop for Instagram photos. If you have guests if their teens and twenties, this will especially be a hit. You can pick up giant word balloons from a variety of party and super stores. Add some streamers and you’ve got a fun photo spot! If you don’t want to assemble it yourself, the CherCanDoIt shop on Etsy has you covered!
If you want to be able to see what guests post about your party, ask them to use a fun hashtag! This isn’t just a tactic for weddings anymore! People also create them for birthday parties, baby showers, etc. Why not your Super Bowl party?! It can be a play on your last name, on the Super Bowl or football in general, or something as simple as #GameDayAtTheSmiths.
No matter which of these six entertaining ideas you choose to incorporate, we hope you have an awesome Super Bowl LVI with your family and friends! Or on your own, if that is more your jam!
If you are an Upper East Riverite and use any of these tips in your luxury home this Super Bowl, we would love to see them in action! Post on social media, tag us, and use the hashtag #GameDayAtUpperEastRiver.
