A Year-Round Festival Map

Spring (March–April)

Savannah comes alive in the spring with some of its most iconic celebrations. The city’s legendary St. Patrick’s Day festivities are the second-largest in the nation, featuring the greening of the Forsyth Park Fountain, a vibrant downtown parade, and endless community events. Living at Upper East River means you can join the revelry without worrying about traffic or parking.

Later in March and into April, the Savannah Music Festival takes center stage. As Georgia’s largest musical arts event, it brings nearly 500 artists from around the globe to venues across the Historic District. For residents, it’s an easy walk or quick ride to unforgettable performances.

Spring also ushers in the Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon and 5K, which winds through the city’s most beautiful streets and finishes near Forsyth Park. Runners and spectators alike can enjoy a celebratory brunch back at the riverfront afterward.

And don’t miss the SCAD Sidewalk Arts Festival, where students transform Forsyth Park’s walkways into a colorful open-air gallery, or the NOGS Hidden Gardens Tour, which opens the gates to some of Savannah’s most beautiful private courtyards.

Summer (May–August)

When the heat rolls in, Savannah’s cultural calendar doesn’t slow down. The Savannah VOICE Festival each August fills the city with opera, classical music, and masterclasses, founded by opera greats Sherrill Milnes and Maria Zouves. Summer evenings at Upper East River are perfectly paired with a short walk to a world-class concert under the stars.

Fall (September–October)

As the weather cools, the music heats up again with the Savannah Jazz Festival. This beloved event features eight days of concerts and culminates with free performances at Forsyth Park. Imagine heading home from a night of jazz and strolling along the river to your residence.

October brings the SCAD Savannah Film Festival, the largest university-run film festival in the U.S.

The Boat Parade of Lights sends illuminated vessels drifting past Eastern Wharf, while Plant Riverside’s European-style Christmas Market fills the city with festive cheer.
