There is just something about spring, isn’t there? Perhaps it’s the return of more temperate weather that so enchants us, or maybe it’s the sense of new beginnings. Whatever the reason, it is a time that ushers in an ambience of romanticism, optimism, light, and loveliness. It captivates and, since the beginning of time, it has inspired. From the paintings of Monet to the compositions of Vivaldi, many a stunning work has been inbued with the magic of spring. Today, we’re going to share five songs to help you enjoy spring by the river … a special time indeed.
Sweet Jane by The Velvet Underground

This old-school ditty just has the vibe. Some of its lyrics are whimsical and bright while others are less happy. But the tune gives it a sense of optimism nonetheless. You can picture yourself strolling the street with this playing through headphones as you embrace spring by the river.
Runnin’ Down A Dream by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

Life—this song is just full of life! Nothing about it is boring, slow, or melancholy. It’s a great track for spring and summer, we think. Imagine yourself at a backyard soiree with this blasting through the speakers … it’s a jam made for spring by the river.
And Your Bird Can Sing by The Beatles

As uplifting chords go, this one is a masterpiece (what did The Beatles do that we don’t feel that way about?). We also just kind of love the mention of birds for spring. Plug this into your headphones and do some bird-watching to a legendary song. Oh, and if you need some tips on the birding part of that, we wrote a blog post to get you started.
Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley

Listen, spring also kicks off wedding season. It’s the time of year when the most people are getting married! That’s probably because, as we mentioned, it’s just a romantic few months full of promise for new beginnings. Spring by the river simply wouldn’t be complete without this decadent track.
Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond with the London Symphony Orchestra

This version of the classic song is so full of the grandeur of a bursting spring landscape. It feels wildly hopeful and optimistic, with the addition of the symphony bringing extra energy. We can hardly think of a song that more embodies spring by the river in Savannah than this one!
