The Best Places to Trick-or-Treat in Savannah

It’s that time of the year again … break out the costumes and candy! Whether you deck the hallowed halls with decorations or just like to see the kiddos delight in their treasures, October 31st and the weekends before can be a truly joyous time. Even for those who don’t love this holiday, the fall season brings delectable baked goods and crisp, energizing air. All around, we think it is such a lovely part of the year! But today, we’re logging on to share some tips for those of you who do, indeed, enjoy Halloween—and especially those of you who have little ones. Keep reading for our list of the best places to trick-or-treat in Savannah.

#1 Trick or Treat on River Street

Trick or Treat on River Street

Given our neighborhood’s riverside location, we had to start with the Trick or Treat on River Street event! Just a short half-hour walk from our residents’ front doors, River Street is a cherished institution around here. Happily, the fabulous businesses along its path are bringing the Halloween fun this year! From 2 to 5 p.m. on October 28th, you can bring, as the Savannah’s Waterfront website says, “your ghouls and goblins,” to gather candy from stores on River Street. The participating establishments will have the above poster displayed in their window. This is a classic for those wanting to trick-or-treat in Savannah!

#2 Annual Community Trunk or Treat at Saint Leo University

With candy given out from trunks decorated by vendors, prize giveaways, and tons of fun costumes, the Annual Community Trunk or Treat is a favorite. Plus, it’s free and you might discover a few new-to-you businesses and nonprofit organizations. If you’re seeking a more low-key event for the kids to enjoy, this is your go-to. This year, it will be held on October 28th from 3 to 5 p.m.

#3 Halloween with Heroes Trunk-or-Treat Drive Boo! at Chatham County Sheriff’s Office

Halloween With Heroes

Chatham County’s finest are hosting a fan-favorite event once again this year! Trick-or-treat in Savannah with the heroes who keep the city safe! At Halloween with Heroes, they promise “a fun-filled evening of treats, costumes, and community spirit.” If you’ve got a kiddo who finds our uniformed protectors a source of total awe, you won’t want to miss this one—they’ll be handing out the candy! Attend this very memorable experience from 6 to 8 p.m. on October 31st.

#4 Costumes on the Woof at Electric Moon

Costumes on the Woof

If delighting the fur babies is more your speed, be sure to dress paws-itively spooky and head on over to Electric Moon for Costumes on the Woof on October 28th! From 5 to 7 p.m., the skytop lounge will be hosting dogs and their owners. Festive treats and a costume contest make this event a must-do! Not to mention, proceeds will go to a local pet rescue. Count us in!

#5 Oktoberfest in Plant Riverside

Okay, so we’ve focused mostly on the trick-or-treating events. But if the adults in your party are ready for their own treat after all of that candy gathering and costumed kiddo wrangling, head on over to Plant Riverside. Through October 28th, the district is hosting Oktoberfest! A blend of new and old German traditions, including some great beverages and food and a Wiener Dog Race, will appeal to all.
